Here's what we were working with - an above ground pool sitting on gravel with no real way to get in or out comfortably and zero space to actually hang out. Just the pool, a plastic ladder leaning against the side, and a tarp thrown over it. Functional? Barely. A backyard people actually want to spend time in? Not even close.

The goal was to give this pool a full wrap-around deck that followed the curve of the pool wall and added a separate hangout platform alongside it. That kind of build takes solid framing from the ground up. You can see the post and joist work taking shape mid-build - every post set, every beam leveled before a single deck board goes down. That foundation work is what makes the finished product feel solid, not bouncy or temporary.

What came out of it is a completely different space. The curved railing system wrapping the pool gives it a finished, intentional look. The separate platform section is connected by a set of stairs, which gives the whole layout a natural flow - pool side on one end, a spot to sit and relax on the other. It's the kind of setup where people actually want to gather.

The best part? We're already heading back to add more to it. That's usually how it goes with a good outdoor build - once the foundation is right and people see what the space can be, they want to keep going. We build it right the first time so adding on later is easy, not a headache.

Whether you've got a pool that needs a proper deck or a backyard that's just not living up to its potential, this is exactly the kind of work we do. Start to finish, framing to railings, we handle it all.
